Ministry alleges coordinated strikes on merchant vessels
The Russian Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday that its forces had struck three cargo vessels carrying supplies for the Ukrainian military and a tanker docked at the Black Sea port of Pivdennyi. The statement was made in the wake of intensified maritime operations in the region.
According to MarineLink, the ministry’s communiqué specified that all three cargo ships were laden with material earmarked for Ukraine’s armed forces, while the targeted tanker was also present in Pivdennyi at the time of the attack.

The same claim extended to a further cargo vessel moored in the nearby port of Odesa. Both MarineLink and Maritime Logistics Professional noted that Russian forces also damaged port infrastructure in Pivdennyi and Odesa, as well as fuel storage facilities at the Chornomorsk terminal.
