Charleston Port & Seafarers' Society is a Christian organization that has served the needs of seafarers on the harbor and aboard ships for over 200 years. Annually, more than 65,000 seafarers in Charleston receive various services. The Society oversees three seafarer centers, including the Wando Welch Terminal, North Charleston Terminal, Hugh Leatherman, and Columbus Street Terminal. They offer religious materials, Bibles, magazines as well as telephones, computers, and internet access. Additionally, they provide free transportation services to shopping destinations and other attractions. Annually, over 800 ships, 5,000 officers, and 15,000 men serve at the facilities, while at least 1,700 transportation services are provided.
