Medmou.org is a Mediterranean MoU on Port State Control organization that coordinates inspections of ships to ensure safety and prevent pollution in the Mediterranean region. Eleven maritime authorities participate, conducting 5,993 inspections on 4,907 ships in 2024, resulting in 196 detentions, a 20% increase from the previous year. The organization has been operating for more than 25 years and has inspected over 80,000 ships. Medmou.org provides specialized blended training, including sessions on MARPOL Annex VI and ballast water management inspection. The organization's headquarters is located in Alexandria, Egypt, and it has meetings scheduled in various locations, including Malta, Croatia, and Portugal. Medmou.org has a membership of Croatia, which joined the organization on January 1, 2024.
