LCRHSC, or the Lower Columbia Region Harbor Safety Committee, is an open forum comprising public and private entities focused on ensuring safe navigation in the Lower Columbia Region. The committee develops and adopts standards and guidelines, such as the Harbor Safety Plan, to address unique maritime transportation issues. LCRHSC received the Distinguished Harbor Safety Committee Award from the U.S. Coast Guard for their commitment to safety, security, and environmental protection from January 2024 to December 2025. The committee's membership includes vessel operators, port and vessel services, ports and terminals, pilots, industry associations, state agencies, federal agencies, and tribal representatives. The Lower Columbia Region Harbor Safety Committee is based in Portland, Oregon, and was honored at the National Harbor Safety Conference in Newport, Oregon, on July 8, 2026.
