The Slipway, based in Milford Auckland in the old Bagnall Yard, was founded in March 2019. The company has three staff members: Ken Goa, a wooden boat builder and composite specialist; Jason Prew, slipway manager with expertise in wooden boat building, vessel maintenance, paint, and varnish; and Cam Malcolm, a composite specialist, designer, and engineer. They offer new builds, restorations, maintenance, electrical work, and engineering services for both wood and composite vessels. The Slipway has three slipways capable of handling drafts up to 6 feet on spring tides, with the smallest able to handle 4-ton vessels. They also have an on-site crane truck for engine and mast lifting, as well as the ability to shrinkwrap and scaffold. Located in Milford Auckland, the company serves a wide range of vessel sizes accessible through Warau Creek. The Slipway currently has three staff members.
