France
Centre Manche 2 is a major offshore wind project located off the coast of Normandy, France. The project, led by TotalEnergies and RWE, will have a capacity of 1.5 gigawatts and an estimated investment of 4.5 billion euros, making it the largest renewable energy project in France since 30 years. Situated more than 40 kilometers from the coast, it will produce around 6 terawatt-hours per year once operational, enough to power over one million French households. The project is expected to start producing electricity in 2033 and will be operated by Centre Manche Énergies, a company fully owned by TotalEnergies. TotalEnergies has committed to creating jobs in France, particularly in Normandy, and implementing a European preference policy for key equipment.
