Spain Govt Socib, known as SOCIB, is a Sistema de Observación Costero and Predicción (Coastal Observation System) located in the Balearic Islands, part of the Mapa de Infraestructuras Científicas y Técnicas Singulares (ICTS). Founded in 2007 by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, with CSIC's involvement since 2020, SOCIB operates a network including a repository of meteoceanographic data, gliders, and an oceanographic vessel.
