Sabah International Petroleum, specifically referred to as SMJ Energy, is a Malaysian company with investments in the Upstream, LNG, and Petrochemical sectors. It holds a 25% equity interest in Petronas Chemicals Fertiliser Sabah Sdn Bhd, operating the largest single train integrated ammonia and urea production complex in Southeast Asia located in Sipitang, Sabah. SMJ Energy also has a 50% participating interest in the Samarang Production Sharing Contract (PSC), which includes seven oil and gas fields and two receiving terminals. Additionally, it has an option to back-in up to 20% of an exploration block offshore northern Sabah through the SB403 PSC. The company also holds a 10% equity interest in PETRONAS LNG9 Sdn Bhd, operating LNG train-9 within the Bintulu LNG complex.
