Whangamata Marina was commenced with construction works in September 2008 and opened its first berth in November 2009. The marina offers berthing for 209 boats, which can be between 10.5m and 20m long, and features full fingers, wide locks, and individual pillars for water and energy supply. The Marina is situated in a secure, sheltered location in the Whangamata Harbour and has a solid rock as breakwater on three sides, ensuring a safe berth under all weather conditions. It is located near tourist-friendly places like Mayor Island, the prehistoric Alderman Islands, and the clear water beaches of Slipper Island. The management team consists of friendly, professional staff who operate from the Marina Office and are always ready to assist.
