Morski Instytut Rybacki (MIR) is a research institute focused on marine and fisheries research. It operates the R/V Baltica, a research vessel, and motor boats. The institute provides environmental and economic audits, as well as education and staff development. Founded in 1926, MIR has a long history and has received the Demel Medal. It is a state-owned research institute and has been involved in various projects funded by the EU and other government funds.
