CES UVIGO is an interdisciplinary company founded by students from the University of Vigo and Marine Instruments. It develops and produces solar boats for international competitions, which contributes to enhancing the skills in navigation and renewable energy within the university community. CES stands for Clean Energy Ship and is reminiscent of the Cíes Islands along the Vigo coast. The company is active in the fall of 2023 and has its main office at the Campus Universitario Lagoas-Marcosende in Vigo, where it assembles various components for its solar boats, including the interior design of the ship's hull, solar panels, telemetry systems, batteries, and electronic components.
