E-LASS is the European network for lightweight applications at sea, established in 2013. The organization focuses on lightweight design for the maritime industry and has over 300 members from 32 different nations. E-LASS held its 18th event at the TKMS headquarters in Kiel, Germany, in January 2023, co-organized with MariLight.Net, CMT, and the EU consortium CirclesOfLife. The event featured discussions on circular materials, lightweight design, sustainability, and shipyard processes. E-LASS also showcased advanced wood and composite construction methods used in modern yacht production during an industry tour at Knierim Yachtbau GmbH.
