The firm commenced its operational activities in April 2009 through the takeover of Tuong Aik Shipyard Sendirian Berhad (TAS). TAS is a fully-owned subsidiary specializing in shipbuilding and ship repairs. The history of the company dates back to 1977 when Tuong Aik Sarawak Sendirian Berhad (TASSB) was founded. TASSB initially offered marine paints and shipping support services before diversifying into shipbuilding and ship repairs in 1991. TAS originally started with ship repairs, before the shipbuilding and ship repair activities of TASSB were transferred to TAS in 2004.
