Shipyards Association of India (SAI) is a registered association founded in 1987 to promote the shipbuilding and repair industry. SAI comprises reputed private shipyards such as A.C. Roy Shipbuilders Pvt. Ltd., Dempo Shipbuilding & Engineering Pvt. Ltd., and L&T Shipbuilding Ltd., among others, all of which are based across India including Kolkata, Goa, Mumbai, and Gujarat. The association aims to promote indigenous shipbuilding in line with the government's Make in India initiatives and Aatamnirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) policies. SAI provides a platform for knowledge sharing, partnerships, and networking opportunities among its members and associated industries. As of 2024, SAI has 21 member shipyards and 13 associate members, with headquarters in New Delhi.
