MIDC is a think tank that brings together stakeholders from the entire maritime value chain to share technical knowledge and discuss ongoing projects related to decarbonization through sustainable alternative fuels and energy-efficient measures. The organization focuses on initiatives such as e-ammonia, (e-/bio-)methanol, and e-hydrogen. MIDC recently presented a study by LR Decarbonisation Hub on ammonia safety and discussed initiatives on safe decarbonization led by IACS. Founded in Belgium, MIDC operates with members from the maritime value chain to provide a 360° perspective on challenges faced in decarbonizing the industry. The organization is free to join but requires active participation in sessions or project presentations. As of the last presentation, their first prototype can recycle up to 100 tons of CO2 per year using innovative plasma technology for high-value products.
