Ital Marine Group was founded in 1985 by Frank Phillips and Clive Higgins to support owners of Morris Marina and Ital vehicles. Since then, the club has grown to over 300 members worldwide. The organization provides a range of services including membership applications, spares suppliers, repair panels, and events. It also maintains a register for Morris Marina and Ital derivatives. The Morris Marina entered the British market in April 1971, initially offered with 1.3-litre or 1.8-litre engines in two-door Coupe and four-door Saloon body styles. By September 1972, vans and estates were added to the lineup. The Mk2 Marina introduced disc brakes at the front in October 1975, while the Mk3 Marina debuted in September 1978 with a new engine and styling changes.
