Flandria International is an initiative of "INTERPROVINCIALE STOOMBOOTDIENSTEN FLANDRIA - VAN MARKE BV" and was founded in 1922 by Eugeen Van Marcke and Marguérite Raes in Antwerp. The company reached its peak in the 1980s with a fleet of 26 ships and equipment types, including day cruises, international tourism cruises, water deliveries, ferries, busses, and the two-star Michelin floating restaurant La Pérouse. Jan Van Marcke, the grandson of the founders, is currently involved in the realization of the motor yacht Flandria H2 with the latest Flemish technology. The activities encompass both the marine sector and the restaurant sector, with La Pérouse maintaining an unique tradition. Flandria International is engaged in the development of hydrogen vessels for maritime traffic and has historical roots in Flemish shipbuilding.
