Engesberg Rederi AB is a privately-owned cultural heritage site that is managed by Nordstjernan. Nordstjernan was founded in 1890 by Axel Johnson and is a foundation. The company has focused on the maintenance and development of the Bruk environment. Engesberg's Bruk is primarily used for scientific conferences, seminars, and research. Historically interested public can reserve to visit guided tours through the Hytten building and the forge. The centuries-old iron smelting has spread in the Engelsberg region, with the first Hytte dating back to the 14th century. Nordstjernan has already taken measures to preserve the Bruk in the early 20th century and relocated visitors to a new park layout.
