Nippon Gas Line is a specialized company for the maritime transport of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and other goods. The firm was founded as an LPG transportation company in 1962 and has since developed into an important provider in this field. Nippon Gas Line operates both internal and external ships, including the vessels "Housen Maru No.1", "Izumi Maru No.7" and "Green Maru No.8". The company is certified according to the standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and works on reducing their CO₂ emissions through experiments with CO₂ handling on their ships. Nippon Gas Line celebrated its 60th anniversary in April 2022 and operates its ships in Japan as well as in Southeast Asia.
