United Jamalpur Power Ltd (UJPL) is a 160 MW strong power production company in Bangladesh and the first commercial Independent Power Producer (IPP) of the country. The firm operates two power plant facilities in Dhaka EPZ and Chittagong EPZ, both rented over a period of 30 years. UJPL is the first electricity and steam supply company in Bangladesh with the largest privately acquired supply systems. The plants are gas-fired and provide electrical energy as well as up to 20 tons per hour (TPH) steam to industrial customers. UJPL was founded in 2007 and operates from a location in Jamalpur, where it supplies electricity for the Export Processing Industries of Bangladesh and illuminates the country.
