Yokkaichi Eisen was established in April 1979 (Shōwa 54) as a company operating tugs for the berthing of ships in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. Since then, the company has been operating tugs for the berthing and unberthing of large tankers and container vessels at the port of Yokkaichi, an important international trading port. The firm operates two tugs: Kamiiji Maru with a tonnage of 195 GT and a power of 3600 PS, and Suehiro Maru with a tonnage of 181 GT and the same engine. The company is a member of several associations including the Japanese Harbor Towing Association and the West Japan Towing Association. Yokkaichi Eisen has its headquarters in Kannage Ward, Mie Prefecture, with a staff of 13, including seven sailors and six engineers (as of May 2024).
