ICE-SAR is a company specialized in the fields of rescue and recovery. The firm was founded in 1925 and has since established itself as a leading provider in the industry. ICE-SAR operates several new ships, including the Thor, which entered service in autumn 2022, as well as five additional ships scheduled to be put into operation between 2026 and 2027. The ships are stationed at various locations along Iceland's coast, including Vestmannaeyjum, Siglufirði, Reykjavík, Rifi, Höfn in Hornafirði, and Ísafirði. ICE-SAR also offers training for crews to improve skills in areas such as recovery operations.
