Iraklion Port Authority provides high-level competitive services in the cruise sector. The new Cruise Terminal built in Provlita IV-V in 2017 serves over 10,000 passengers and crew members daily, supporting the homeporting of major cruise companies. The port handled the arrival of the Silver Nova, one of the most modern luxury cruise ships. In 2014-2020, Iraklion Port Authority was involved in the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum. The authority operates four parking areas for passengers and provides electricity for the maintenance of observations by a mechanic for issuing certificates.
