Their main goal is to respond to and mitigate oil spills along the entire 27,000 km long coast of British Columbia if a spill occurs. They have their headquarters in Burnaby, BC, and operate various sites such as Beecher Bay, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Sidney, Prince Rupert, Coquitlam, Fraser River, and Vancouver. WCMRC offers unconditional marine oil spill response, prevention, and rescue systems to manage and mitigate the risks of sea transportation in British Columbia. They have a 24-hour spill response hotline with different numbers for various sites.
