MariMatic OY is a Finnish company specializing in Automated Waste Collection Systems (AWCS) and Vacuum Buffer Systems. The company was founded in 1980. MariMatic produces two types of waste collection systems: the hygienic Taifun®-System for the food industry and the MetroTaifun®, specifically developed for underground transport systems of municipal waste. The company has installed approximately 1,000 systems in more than 40 countries worldwide. MariMatic has its own production facilities in Finland and Estonia, with a Research and Demonstration Center of 3,400 square meters in Järvenpää, Finland. MetroTaifun® is the world's most modern AWCS and can have up to 4 km (2.5 miles) distance from the waste collection point. MariMatic also offers the intelligent waste sorting and recycling solution MetroSense, which is based on RFID technology.
