FreeGaza Movement is a human rights organization founded in 2006, focusing on the goal of breaking through Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza. Since August 2008, the organization has organized a total of 15 flotillas heading to Gaza, of which five have been successful. In May 2010, the group was severely punished by the Israeli military for violent attacks, resulting in ten deaths and over 60 injuries. FreeGaza continues to work with other initiatives to send boats to Gaza, which can only reach a small part of the Mediterranean. The organization has already carried out several entry attempts, including a Jewish fleet, the Canadian ship Tahrir, and the Swedish ship Estelle, all of which were stopped by Israeli forces.
