The marina grounds are located on Bolgatty Island, near the international sea traffic route at the southwestern coast of India, and are characterized by favorable conditions and minimal tidal ranges throughout the year. The Marina serves as a starting point for visits to neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. It was founded in 1986 and is situated in the Ernakulam District of Kerala.
