Antwerp, Belgium
Deutsche Seemannsmission Antwerpen, with a location at Noorderlaan 100 in Antwerpen (Belgien), is an important part of the harbour and offers a variety of services for seafarers. The team consists of Station Leader Marc Schippers and around 20 volunteers. The Mission has its roots back to 1850 and has been active in Antwerpen, one of Europe's second-largest harbours behind Rotterdam, for more than 50 years. It offers shipboard care, club activities, accommodation, spiritual care, religious services, shopping, and sightseeing. The Antwerp Harbour Hotel serves as a common base for the Seaman's Mission with the Rolling Store, which supplies important daily needs on board. The Deutsche Seemannsmission is part of an ecumenical construct with other seafarers' churches and welfare organisations.
