The Port Hedland Peace Memorial Seafarers Centre provides services to visiting seafarers, tourists, and the local community in Port Hedland. Construction began on a new centre in April 2023 with an official ground-breaking event attended by local officials and stakeholders. The centre offers expanded shore leave schedules and has received donations from seafarer crews, including a massage chair and a life ring. It gratefully acknowledges a $20,000 grant from BHP to upgrade its computer systems. Located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, the centre serves around 50,000 seafarers annually at one of the world's largest bulk mineral export ports.
