Hellenic Hull Mutual Assoc, founded in 1994, is a 30-year-old marine insurance specialist based in Cyprus, focusing on hull and machinery insurance for Greek and Cypriot shipowners. The company has insured over 16,900 vessels globally. Hellenic Hull was the first marine underwriter to adopt the UNEP FI’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance and a founding member of the Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance. It has been led by CEO Ilias Tsakiris since 1994, and in 2022, he became the chair of the International Union of Marine Insurance’s Ocean Hull Committee. In August 2026, Hellenic Hull was accredited for its first dedicated Ocean marine program, covering Hull & Machinery, ancillary marine risks, and Marine Cargo.
