CACEL – Cámara Argentina de Constructores de Embarcaciones was founded in 1969 and has developed into a central association in the Argentine shipbuilding and nautical sector. The Camera represents shipyards, boat builders, manufacturers of nautical parts, as well as various service providers in the sector. CACEL has its headquarters in San Fernando, the National Capital of Nautics. It is a member of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and the Industrial Union Argentina (UIA). The Camera organizes the Salón Náutico Argentino, the largest nautical event in the country, since 1983 part of the global Boats-Shows-calendar. CACEL works closely with the Prefecture of the Argentine Navy and negotiates collective labor agreements with the unions.
