JOSENFJORD, ANDELSLAGET MS was founded in 2011 with the purpose of restoring and preserving the historical Rutebåt Jøsenfjord and ensuring its original condition. The company is based at the North Heimsund ferry terminal and plans to bring the ship back into the Ryfylke Bay to provide insights into the history of fjord sections. The Rutebåt Jøsenfjord was built for the Lindesnæs Steamboat Company in Christiansand in 1886 and has since had a long history as a Rutebåt between Ryfylke and Kristiansand. The company received support from the National Museum to prepare the ship for restoration.
