The Museum focuses on the investigation and presentation of the history of seafaring and the relationship of Greeks to the sea from antiquity to the present day. It possesses two Plötzige, the Evangelistria of 1940 and the Thales of Milet from the year 1909, which were built in the USA at NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING AND DRYDOCK CO., VIRGINIA.
