OREGON MARITIME MUSEUM operates the Steam Sternwheeler Portland, the last operating sternwheeler steamship in the USA. The ship is moored at the Willamette River in Waterfront Park in Portland and offers tourists the opportunity to embark on a unique journey on the Willamette River. The Portland was built in 1947 and worked as a tugboat on the Willamette River. The Museum is a member of the National Register of Historic Places. There are also opportunities for support through becoming a member, providing tours, or donations. The Cruises last approximately four hours and include visits to the engine room and pilothouse as well as historical lectures.
