Bulgarian Ship Hydrodynamics Centre (BSHC) was founded as a national research institute in 1976 and has been active since then. In 2004, BSHC integrated into the "Engineering Sciences" sector of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). The company engages in fundamental and application-oriented research and educates graduates and advanced students in the fields of ship hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, coastal and marine engineering, environmental protection, inland waterway transportation, as well as National Security and Defense. BSHC has developed a Quality Management System (QMS) under the conditions of ISO 9001:2015, which was certified by the firm SGS. The Deep Water Towing Tank is also certified by ABS (Copenhagen Branch). BSHC represents Bulgaria in international organizations and projects related to its activities.
