Hamburg Port Health Center (HPHC) is a department of the Institute for Hygiene and Environment (HU) and includes the Harbor and Airport Medical Service as well as the Vaccination Medicine Center. The service area includes infection and health protection at the harbor, on ships, and at the airport. HPHC oversees various ship and dock types and offers consultations on topics such as vaccination, travel medicine, and preventive measures. Since 2022, the company has been involved in national establishment of wastewater analyses for the collection of SARS-CoV-2 infection data. The Vaccination Medicine Center has special rooms adorned with street art. HPHC is also involved in international exchange programs such as the visit from the Dutch Institute for Public Health and Environment.
