Elbasma Factory was founded in 1970 under the name "Fen Al-Lafatat Wal-Dekore" and was initially specialized in the production of engravings and decorations. In 1974, the operation was further developed under the leadership of Khalid Mahmoud Maki, who focused on the manufacturing of stamps, clichés, signs, and printed materials. In 1988, a new production process was introduced to shorten working time without compromising quality. In 1992, the company underwent a complete reorganization and mainly concentrated on the production of stamps. From 2003 onwards, Elbasma Factory worked with the globally active firm Colub to market various self-inking stamps. In 2004, the production profile was revised again by introducing a new raw material to enhance productivity and quality.
