MATRE is a Norwegian furniture brand founded by Elizabeth Matre-Aas and Ole Kristian Bergsjø Aas in 2023. The company places great value on local production and ensures that all materials are traceable back to their origin. Their first production offering includes furniture such as the Vatne Sofa, the Tube-Chair, and the Tube-Side-Table, designed by Sigurd Resell, Fredrik Kayser, and Knut Sæter. The iconic stripe pattern was developed by Elizabeth and Saga Nilsson, a textile designer at Innvik. These furniture pieces are produced in collaboration with Kvadrat. MATRE combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design and thereby shapes a shared design history and the Norwegian craftwork further.
