Core Maritime Corporation (CORE), founded in 1988, operates in the sea transport of refined petroleum products along the Philippine coastwise trade. The company initially used chartered foreign vessels and later acquired its first vessel, M/T Core Diamond, in 1990. By 1992, CORE's fleet expanded to three vessels with the addition of M/T Core Ruby and M/T Core Sapphire (previously M/T Hakuba). Currently, CORE owns and operates two vessels: M/T Core Amethyst since September 2002 and M/T Core Garnet since October 2004. The company holds an ISO 9002 Certificate from February 1999 and a Document of Compliance (DOC) issued on the same date, making it a world-class ship owning and management company.
