The company was established in 1992 by the Dutch food industry as a certification system for the safety of food. Today, GMP+ International is a non-profit organization with over 20,000 certified companies in 90 countries. The certificate is awarded through independent inspections, where compliance with standards is verified. GMP+ International provides international guidelines for safe and sustainable food production, including the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance (GMP+ FSA) and the GMP+ Feed Responsibility Assurance (GMP+ FRA). The certification covers companies from feed collection to production.
