Mackay Port Authority, also known as North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP), is a government-owned and self-operating entity since 2009, operating in the management of several ports in northeastern Australia. These include the Mackay Port, Weipa Port, Abbot Port, and Hay Point Port. NQBP has a broad mandate, ranging from safety to infrastructure investments. They are responsible for issuing licenses and leasing agreements, as well as ensuring the continuous commercial diversity. The ports handle a variety of goods, including sugar, grains, oil, coal, and bauxite.
