SMIA, the Slovenian Marine Industry Association (g.i.z.), was founded in 2016 to connect companies, institutions, and professionals in the nautical industry. It brings together stakeholders from boat and equipment manufacturing to nautical tourism, logistics, services, and institutions. SMIA operates as an economic interest association with a transparent structure, including an Assembly, Management Board, and various sections for different activities. The association aims to promote Slovenia’s marine and nautical industry as innovative, sustainable, and internationally competitive. As of 2023, SMIA has over 40 members organized into four sections: navigation tourism, manufacturers and project designers, equipment manufacturers, and sales representatives.
