Tauchbasis Kreidesee GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1989 by Holger Schmoldt, is Germany's largest diving base and has been repeatedly awarded as the best in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The company offers diving services year-round (365 days) with access to crystal-clear spring water from the Kreidesee lake, which was formed after a former quarry filled with clear groundwater over six years. They provide diving for beginners to professionals using Eurosub submarines and have Europe's largest and fastest filling station. The facility includes more than 30 Scandinavian-style holiday houses, apartments, and a camping site around the 33-hectare lake that is up to 60 meters deep. In 2016, they had over 30,000 satisfied customers annually.
