ALDEBARAN Marine Research and Broadcast Frank Schweikert e.K., officially recognized as a contribution to the UN Ocean Decade, operates since 1992 the research and communication vessel ALDEBARAN, which has been on over 250 expeditions covering more than 100,000 nautical miles primarily in Germany and Europe. The 13.50-meter-long aluminum-hulled ship, of the "Sonate Ovni 43" type, can operate in shallow waters and coastal areas due to its ability to reduce its draft to just under a meter using hydraulic equipment. Equipped with a fully modernized scientific laboratory, a radio studio, and professional sound and video production facilities, ALDEBARAN provides a versatile platform for research, education, and media projects. Since 2011, the vessel has undergone general overhaul and is continuously updated with state-of-the-art science, navigation, and communication technologies.
