Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) is the voice of the shipping sector in Sri Lanka and was founded as Ceylon Shipping Committee in 1944. CASA represents all international shipping companies that berth at the Sri Lankan port, due to the country's strategic location near the main sea routes. The members of CASA are engaged in representing ships and serve as personnel representatives for leading shipowners and management companies. They also offer various other services such as berthing services (Husbanding Services) and other services in the port and ex-harbour areas of Sri Lanka. Since its founding, CASA has been actively engaged through constant dialogues with stakeholders, government authorities, and other private sector institutions to represent and promote the goals of the industry.
