BAKBA, the Bulgarian Association of Ship Brokers and Agents, was founded in 1997 in Varna. It was initially known as the Regional Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (RASKBA) and was renamed BAKBA in 2003 after expanding its membership to include companies operating in all Bulgarian ports. The association aims to protect the economic and professional interests of its members and the shipowners and principals they represent, fostering a spirit of collegiality, high professionalism, and fair competition. BAKBA participated in the ECASBA seminar in Gothenburg, Sweden, in June 2026, representing the Bulgarian maritime professional community. The association's headquarters are located in Varna, Bulgaria.
