Boating Finland is a research project aimed at enhancing the international competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability of the Finnish boating industry and waterway tourism. The project, which began in May 2025 and will run until August 2028, focuses on international trends, user habits, and the development of the tourism and boating ecosystem. It explores how factors such as the sharing economy and digital platforms are shaping the market and investigates the service infrastructure needed for sustainable waterway tourism. Funded by Business Finland and companies in the boating and tourism sectors, the project has a budget of over 1.5 million euros. Boating Finland has already strengthened Finland’s international visibility at events like BOOT Düsseldorf.
