Yaf Group was founded in Tuzla, Istanbul, Turkey and Shanghai, China, in 2008. The company deals with the supply and maintenance of ship parts and machinery worldwide and has specialized departments for workshops and services. Yaf Group operates various ship and plant operations, including Backyard Shipyard in Yalova, Turkey, and Milestone Ship Management, which was established with the acquisition of their first freighters. The group renamed itself Yaf Group in 2021 and since then has acquired new locations such as Yaf Korea in Busan, South Korea, Blackstone in Bremen, Germany, and Yaf Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Yaf Engineering was operated under the name Yaf Diesel from 2015 and was officially launched as an independent company in 2023.
