About

What Sjøfartsdirektoratet does.

Sjøfartsdirektoratet has been in operation since 1980 and is responsible for the regulation and supervision of Norwegian maritime transport. The Directorate oversees various ship and port types, including cargo ships, leisure boats, commercial vessels, and fishing boats. It issues Sea Transport Cards and supervises the Norwegian International Ship Register (NIS). Additionally, it regulates new ship registrations, flag shipswitches, and ownership transfers. The Authority works on improving environmental protection and the development of new technologies in maritime transport. It also monitors the safety and health conditions for seafarers, paying special attention to risks and accidents.

Frequently asked

Three things people ask first.

Is the free account really free?

Yes — no card required. Browsing is always free, and a free account adds 5 contact releases every month.

What does a contact cost?

Your first 5 contact releases each month are included in the free account. After that, packs start at 19 € for 50 contacts (view or export), or a monthly plan for regular use.

Where does the data come from?

Companies are harvested from the open web — registers, websites and industry directories — not self-registered sign-ups. Contact details are shown only once you use a release or credit, never invented.
