Permskaya Shipyard, or "OOO 'Perm Shipyard'", is the sole shipbuilding enterprise on the Ural region and was founded in 1931. The company specializes in constructing various types of vessels including cargo, passenger, and specialized transport ships, as well as performing major and scheduled repairs on river-going vessels. It also produces metal structures for ships and infrastructure projects. In 2021, the shipyard was taken over by the government of Perm Krai and resumed its historical name. The facility can simultaneously construct up to four large-scale vessels across three construction sites, two docks, and a slipway. Permskaya Shipyard is located in an area that serves as one of Russia's major transportation hubs, situated at the intersection of rail routes from Europe to Asia and accessible via waterways leading to five seas.
